Congo Lucha

Storyline

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, a group of Congolese youths has stood up without arms against their President who was determined to cling to power. As they fought, they have learned that success comes with a price. They are called La Lucha. Shot over a period of two years, Congo Lucha – Bye Bye Mr President, documents their struggle. Luc, Espoir and Rebecca have grown up in the endless war of Eastern Congo. Now adults, they struggle peacefully for democracy in their country, which they believe is the only way to bring an end to the war. In face of their determination and the one of their comrades of La Lucha, the Congolese authorities will use their usual tools: repression and violence. But this will not stop their struggle to continue and get some achievements.
